Downtown Eastside shooting lands one in hospital with serious injuries

Vancouver Police are investigating an overnight shooting that occurred on the Downtown Eastside.
Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported hearing gun shots near East Cordova and Carrall streets at around 8:45 p.m. February 16. One person was taken to hospital for serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been laid.
For two days, the downtown core of the nation's capital has been a no-go zone as trucks and crowds have snarled traffic, with some members defacing monuments and wielding signs with violent and hateful imagery. Police are also investigating what they describe as threatening behaviour toward officers, city workers and other individuals, as well as damage to a city vehicle.
