Mounties in Surrey are investigating door-knock pranks after multiple residences were damaged. 

Police say a decades-old prank known as Nicky nicky nine doors, has devolved into cases of harassment and mischief as an ongoing frenzy of pranks takes place in the neighbourhoods of Newton and South Surrey.

Mounties say they have identified some pranksters and they are seeking potential criminal charges.

James Mason with Surrey R-C-M-P says although this type of behaviour might not have started with malicious intent, these people are showing a lack of respect for residents and their property.

The Canada Border Services Agency says a man from Nanaimo has been charged with nine counts of gun and drug-related offences. The agency says it launched an investigation after border officers inspected three firearm suppressors at the Vancouver airport between August and October 2022.

Police say officers responded to an assault near the school's Rose Garden parking structure around 1:30 p-m yesterday, and found a victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
