Divers Scour Rossland, B.C., Reservoir For Clues In 2014 Homicide

    ROSSLAND, B.C. — More than a year after the death of an elderly man from southeastern B.C., RCMP hope a dive team can uncover key evidence that may lead to charges.
     
    Cpl. Dave Tyreman says the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team will search the depths of a Rossland reservoir on Monday.
     
    Long-time Rossland-area resident Tom Feeney was found dead in his home on June 5, 2014.
     
    Investigators believe the death occurred during a robbery and they hope the renewed search will turn up evidence that may have been discarded after the homicide.
     
    According to a Crime Stoppers report, a number of unique weapons, including a rare vintage rifle and a crossbow, were among the items taken from the home. 
     
    Police have never said how Feeney died and his family has appealed to residents to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
