Delta Police Investigating Mail Thefts

    On September 11, 2017 Delta Police responded to four separate incidents of mail box theft that had occurred sometime overnight on September 10, 2017 at four apartment buildings in the area between the 1100 blk through to the 1600 blk of 55 Street of South Delta.
     
    Suspect(s) made entry to the secure lobbies, in some cases causing damage to front door plates while in other cases there was no apparent damage. In all four instances the bank of mailboxes had been breached and it is unknown what if anymail had been stolen from each compartment.
     
    Delta Police are reminding citizens to pick up mail daily whenever possible. It is also suggested as a matter of safe practice, to follow up with a financial institution or retailer if expecting a credit card in the mail. Additionally, to follow up with any government agency if expected documents are not received in the anticipated timeframe.
     
    Delta Police did have Forensic Ident officers attend the locations to attempt to gather any evidence left behind by suspect(s). Delta Police are continuing with their investigation into these thefts and are asking citizens to report any suspicious person in their area.
