Delta Police Investigate Rash of Theft from Vehicles Over the Weekend

Darpan News Desk, 15 Nov, 2017 12:56 PM
Delta Police responded to a number of theft from auto incidents in the Beach Grove area this past weekend. Most incidents  occurred overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning. In most cases the vehicles were left unlocked but not empty. Items stolen from the vehicles included, GPS, laptop computer,  clothing and loose change.

In one specific incident, at approximately 0420 a.m. Sunday morning on Farrell Cres, a citizen witnessed a male breaking into the neighbor’s vehicle and confronted the suspect.

The suspect fled in a larger grey/black diesel truck. Vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on 56 St toward Hwy 17A. Complainant also indicated that an older model grey/black Ford Bronco may have been associated to the suspect that fled in the diesel truck.

Suspect males described as both being Caucasian,  having scruffy beards and goatee, in their 20-30s.

Police continue to investigate these incidents and encourage citizens to report any and all suspicious persons and activity in their neighbourhoods.

Police discourage approaching suspects, instead encourage you to be good witnesses and gather as much detail as possible. Although we appreciate the efforts of this citizen, your personal safety is something we don’t want you to compromise.
