Delta Police Arrest Two People In Relation To South Delta Vehicle Break Ins

14 Sep, 2017 12:36 PM
On September 12, 2017 at approximately 5:25 a.m. alert citizens called police advising of suspicious persons (male and female) near the 6600 blk of London Lane who appeared to be trying car door handles. Delta Police responded to the area and located two individuals matching descriptions provided.

Initial investigation revealed that the male was in possession of property recently stolen from a vehicle in the area. The 29 year old male from Delta was arrested and held for a Show Cause Hearing.

Police have recommended charges of possession of stolen property and breach of (his pre-existing) release conditions.

The 24 year old female from Surrey was initially arrested but then released pending further investigation.

The Delta Police have been investigating several similar incidents in the area in recent days and weeks, but it is not known if these individuals are responsible for any of the recent theft from vehicles in the South Delta area.

Delta Police remind citizens to remove any and all valuables from their vehicles. The “Leave it Empty” campaign remains a priority initiative for the Delta Police.

Again, a positive outcome resulting from citizens reporting suspicious persons and activities. Your call and our response make a difference in keeping this community safe.
