The Canadian Press, 04 Feb, 2016 12:41 PM
  • Delta, B.C., Officer On Medical Leave Charged With Forgery Related To Pain Meds
DELTA, B.C. — A police officer in Delta, B.C., has been charged with two counts of forgery related to prescription pain medication.

Police say the allegations against Const. Geoffrey Young occurred while he was performing administrative duties after returning from medical leave.

The Delta Police Department says 38-year-old Young's actions were investigated by the RCMP in neighbouring Surrey.

Young has been an officer in Delta since 2009, and his department says the allegations are not related to his duties as a police officer.

He remains on paid medical leave and is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

An investigation into the charges continues.
