Death of Fort St. John woman in B.C. spurs homicide investigation

The Canadian Press , 12 Aug, 2014 08:57 PM
A homicide investigation is underway in Fort St. John, B.C., after a 60-year-old woman was found dead and a 64-year-old man was rushed to hospital.

Fort St. John RCMP say officers responded to a report of a man with a gun and erected a safety perimeter around a building.

Police say officers entered the building and found a dead woman from Fort St. John and an injured man from Manitoba.

Officers believe the pair knew each other and the act was not random.

Police have not released the names of two and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are notifying family of the dead woman.

Note to readers: This is a correction to a story that moved Tuesday. A previous story said the female victim was 64 and the Manitoba man was 60.
