  • Dead male found in Langley identified as Sarbjeet Sander by IHIT

Langley:  On February 10, 2022, around 1:30 a.m., the Langley RCMP responded to a call in the 1700-block of 224 Street and located a deceased male victim. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to investigate and is supported by the Langley RCMP Serious Crimes Section.

In order to further our investigation, IHIT is releasing the name of the vctim, who has been identified as 57-year-old Sarbjeet Sander. Based on information gathered thus far, there appears to be no link to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict. This incident is believed to be isolated and not random.

IHIT is working in partnership with the Langley RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS) and the BC Coroner Service. Canvassing continues along with witness interviews.

“There are people out there with knowledge of Mr. Sander,” said Sergeant David Lee of IHIT. “Information about his activities and history will greatly help in determining what happened.”

Homicide investigators are looking to speak with anyone who was in the area of 1700-block of 224 Street on February 10 around 1:30 a.m. who may have heard or seen anything usual. Friends and associates of Mr. Sander are being asked to contact IHIT. Investigators are also seeking dash-cam footage from anyone who was on 224 Street between 16 and 40 Avenues between 11 p.m. on February 9 and 1:30 a.m. on February 10.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
