West Shore Mounties say a cyclist was seriously injured after a crash involving a vehicle in View Royal.

Police say officers responded to the scene yesterday around 4:45 P-M and found the 55-year-old cyclist with life-threatening injuries. 

He was transported to the hospital, while the 21-year-old driver remained at the scene and was co-operative with police.

The R-C-M-P say the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but alcohol impairment has been ruled out for the driver.

Vancouver Police say they've arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in her 80s on the city's east side. Police say the driver did not stop after hitting the woman, who was crossing at Nanaimo and East Hastings streets yesterday afternoon.
