C-T scanners at Canadian airports

C-T scanners are being put to use at Canada's airports for security screening, meaning travellers can soon leave their liquids, medical devices and large electronics in their carry-ons.

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority made the announcement in Vancouver today, where the first installation of the new technology is in place.

President Nada Semaan says the C-T scanners will make security screening more effective and improve the passenger experience across the country.

Additional C-T equipment instalments are planned at other airports starting this fall and will be phased in over several years.

British Columbia has failed to make an appearance in a new list of Canada's most affordable cities. The Royal LePage report found Quebec City and Edmonton are the top choices for relocation due in part to their lower costs of living.

Seizure of drugs & weapons in Prince George

Mounties in Prince George say an investigation has led to the seizure of drugs and various weapons from two homes. They say quantities of drugs, including suspected fentanyl, were found during the search on May 14th. Mounties are calling it a "significant blow" to the illicit drug trade in Prince George.
