C-T scanners at Canadian airports

C-T scanners are being put to use at Canada's airports for security screening, meaning travellers can soon leave their liquids, medical devices and large electronics in their carry-ons.

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority made the announcement in Vancouver today, where the first installation of the new technology is in place.

President Nada Semaan says the C-T scanners will make security screening more effective and improve the passenger experience across the country.

Additional C-T equipment instalments are planned at other airports starting this fall and will be phased in over several years.

Gurjot Singh Bhatti arrested for stolen vehicle

The vehicle was later relocated abandoned in Richmond, and the driver was arrested nearby with the assistance of Richmond RCMP Gang Enforcement Team (RGET) and Vancouver Police Department Gang Crime Unit (GCU). The driver was identified as 20-year-old Gurjot Singh Bhatti.
