LA LOCHE, Sask. — The Crown has served notice that it wants to sentence a Saskatchewan teen as an adult if he's convicted in a deadly shooting.

The teen, who is now 18, allegedly shot and killed two teenaged brothers and a teacher and a teacher's aide in the small Dene community of La Loche on Jan. 22.

Dayne and Drayden Fontaine were shot in their home, while teachers Adam Wood and Marie Janvier died and seven others were injured at the high school.

The teen, who can’t be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He's due back in court on June 6.
