Crown Dissects Duffy's Editorial Contracts With Friend Gerald Donohue

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 23 Apr, 2015 01:57 PM
OTTAWA — The minutiae of Mike Duffy's contractual paperwork continues to hold the spotlight at the suspended senator's fraud trial.

Crown prosecutor Jason Neubauer is walking senior Senate official Nicole Proulx through the details of a series of Duffy's contracts for editorial services.

Duffy has pleaded not guilty to 31 charges of fraud, breach of trust and bribery concerning his Senate expense claims.

Some of the charges involve $65,000 in contracts awarded to friend Gerald Donohue for editorial and writing services.

Some of that money later wound up in the hands of others through Donohue's company.

The defence has argued that while there might have been some administrative errors, Duffy's contracts with Donohue involved legitimate Senate expenses.
