Crown Argues There's Enough Evidence To Convict Travis Vader Without Bodies

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 22 Jun, 2016 12:25 PM
EDMONTON — Prosecutors say there's enough evidence to convict Travis Vader in the deaths of two Alberta seniors, even though their bodies and a murder weapon have never been found.

The Crown began its closing arguments in Vader's trial Wednesday in an Edmonton courtroom.

Lead Crown Ashley Finlayson contends Vader made calls from Lyle and Marie McCann's cellphone within hours of their deaths and that his DNA was found in several locations inside their SUV.

Finlayson says some of Vader's DNA was found inside Lyle McCann's baseball cap, and that there was a bullet hole in the cap and some of McCann's blood.

The couple disappeared in 2010 while travelling to British Columbia.

Their burned-out motorhome and S-U-V were found west of Edmonton, but their bodies have never been found.
