Darpan News Desk IANS, 30 May, 2015 01:31 PM
ANMORE, B.C. — Crews are fighting a brush fire in Indian Arm, B.C., near the Buntzen Lake power station.

The B.C. Wildfire Management Branch says it has not taken over firefighting operations but is assisting the Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Information Officer Marg Drysdale says the provincial branch has two initial attack crews and one helicopter on scene.

The Sasamat fire department confirmed a blaze was underway but could not immediately provide details on its size or cause.

The Vancouver Police Department's marine unit tweeted it was assisting with the fire, and posted photos of large clouds of white smoke billowing from trees along the shore.

The Buntzen Lake area is popular with hikers and campers in the summer.
