Court told accused mum in police interview about encounter with peace officer

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 09 Dec, 2014 11:44 AM
  • Court told accused mum in police interview about encounter with peace officer

CALGARY — An Alberta man accused of killing a peace officer refused to talk about what happened when he was questioned by police.

Trevor Kloschinsky (kloh-SHIHN'-skee) is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Rod Lazenby (LAY'-zehn-bee).

The defence has said it intends to argue that Kloschinsky is not criminally responsible.

A video played in court shows Kloschinsky becoming agitated during a four-hour police interview and saying a number of times that his lawyer advised him to say nothing.

He did say that he believed Lazenby had earlier stolen his dogs from a property just south of Calgary.

Kloschinsky drove Lazenby, who was severely injured and handcuffed, to a Calgary police station after the attack.
