Coquitlam Police Looking For Two Teenage Girls Who Were Given Drugs In Lions Park

, 22 Jun, 2018 12:02 PM
Police need your help finding two teenage girlswho were given 'free' marihuana by a man in Lions Park, Port Coquitlam, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at about 4:00 p.m.

The RCMP is constantly doing patrols in Lions Park to make sure that it stays the busy, safe and family-friendly park that we all enjoy, says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with Coquitlam RCMP.

The girls did the right thing by turning the drugs over to a city employee but it’s completely unacceptable to have drug-dealing in the park. Police need to speak to those two girls so we can get their stories first-hand and thank them for their help.

Coquitlam RCMP’s Uniform Crime Reduction Team was in the area and made a quick arrest. By the time the arrest was made, the two girls who did the right thing were gone. A 42-year-old Coquitlam man is currently facing charges of fail to comply with conditions, and breach of conditions, and more charges are possible.

If you are one of the girls who was approached by a man giving away marihuana in Lions Park (2300 Lions Way, Port Coquitlam), or you know the identity of those girls, please call the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency line at 604-945-1550 and ask for the Uniform Crime Reduction Team (file 2018-18690).
