Congratulations pour in from political leaders in BC on King Charles coronation

Political leaders in B-C have issued congratulatory statements for the coronation of King Charles, with changes to the province's administrative Great Seal.

B-C Premier David Eby says in a statement that the coronation of Charles marks the first crowning of a Canadian head-of-state in seven decades.

The event marks --quote-- "an opportunity to reflect on the common interests and values we share."

B-C Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin and Yukon Premier Ranj Pillai have also issued congratulatory statements for the coronation, which took place at Westminster Abbey in London.

"On behalf of all Canadians, I would like to congratulate Their Majesties on this auspicious occasion. I look forward to continuing to support our Sovereign in his important work.

The Union of B-C Indian Chiefs, however, criticized the ceremony, saying it --quote-- "cannot participate in or celebrate a ceremony or system that has suppressed and oppressed First Nations rights in Canada."

B.C. tribunal orders woman to pay for 'time theft

A tribunal has ordered a British Columbia accountant to pay her former employer more than $2,600 after a tracking software showed she engaged in "time theft" while working from home. The decision released this week by the Civil Resolution Tribunal shows the woman made a claim of $5,000 to cover unpaid wages and severance pay, arguing she had been fired without cause last March.
