  • City of Surrey Co-hosts Canuck Country Rocks Charity Livestream in Support of Mental Health

The City of Surrey and the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation are proud to host the 2021 Canuck Country Rocks Virtual Concert on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The partnership with the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation is part of Surrey’s ongoing commitment to programs and initiatives that support the City’s vibrant communities, support community engagement, encourage tourism and celebrate the power of sport.

“As we expand sport hosting opportunities throughout Surrey, our goal is to deliver world-class experiences for both residents and visitors throughout the year, including virtual events,” said Mayor Doug McCallum. “Canuck Country Rocks is the latest event that Surrey is hosting. In partnership with the Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation, Canuck Country Rocks supports mental health initiatives in Surrey and across the province. I invite all sport and music fans to join us for this fun-filled event.”

As integral ambassadors of the game of hockey, the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Vancouver Canucks Alumni have helped raise close to $5 million dollars since 1953 for British Columbia charities serving children and families through various events on and off the ice. Canuck Country Rocks is an annual concert event that aims to raise funds supporting programs and local mental health initiatives across B.C. and in Surrey.

The virtual event will feature country-music performers including Chad Brownlee, Dallas Smith, Aaron Pritchett, Jojo Mason, and Odds. The broadcast will also include special guest moments from Vancouver Canucks Alumni, Dave Babych, Cliff Ronning and more. Additionally, viewers can enter to win a variety of prizes during the show via raffle and silent auction, donated from the Vancouver Canucks and RYU Apparel.

Tickets for the April 29 livestream are available for purchase at vancouvercanucksalumni.org.
