Police in North Vancouver are looking for witnesses after a child reported being approached by a stranger driving a truck.

The Mounties say it happened early afternoon near West 13th Street and Mahon Avenue as a 10-year-old boy was walking along the street.

They say a white truck drove by the boy before its passenger asked the child if he wanted candy.

The child ran away and told his parents and police are asking anyone with information to contact them
