Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Sep, 2015 11:17 AM
VANCOUVER — Police are investigating a suspicious fire in Surrey, B.C.

The fire started just after 9 a.m. Monday at a rural property on 40 Avenue, near 157 Street.

Staff Sgt. Joe Johal of the Surrey RCMP says in a release that the fire started in an outbuilding, which was fully engulfed.

Johal says the fire appears to be suspicious, but officers are still trying to determined what sparked the blaze.

Investigators found materials and chemicals that are often used in clandestine drug labs on the property, and blocked off the area.

Surrey RCMP's Drug Section Unit and 'E' Division Clandestine Enforcement and Response Team are investigating.
