Mounties have laid charges related to a homicide last year in Fort St. James.
A 29-year-old man from that north-central B-C community was taken into custody yesterday and remains in jail with a court date set for later today in Williams Lake.
Police were called to a home in Fort St. James on February 25th last year.
Thirty-six year old John Lazare was found dead from a gunshot wound and investigators said at the time that the attack was targeted and there was no risk to the public.
While the announcement signalled that federal workers would get a day off on Sept. 19, the day of the Queen's state funeral and of commemorative events across the country, provinces had to work out the details for other workplaces, including schools, with less than a week's notice.
