Mounties have laid charges related to a homicide last year in Fort St. James.
A 29-year-old man from that north-central B-C community was taken into custody yesterday and remains in jail with a court date set for later today in Williams Lake.
Police were called to a home in Fort St. James on February 25th last year.
Thirty-six year old John Lazare was found dead from a gunshot wound and investigators said at the time that the attack was targeted and there was no risk to the public.
The service says 171 people died of toxic drugs in September, bringing the total for the year to 1,644, the largest number ever recorded for the first nine months of a calendar year.
