Charges have been laid against a robbery suspect in connection with a number of alleged robberies in the Ocean Park area in April and May of 2022.

Between April 24 and May 8, 2022 Surrey RCMP responded to three separate reports of robberies to food service businesses in the area of 128 Street and 16 Avenue.

Surrey RCMP Robbery Unit took conduct of the investigations and through extensive evidence gathering linked all three robberies to one suspect.

On June 28, 2022, a suspect was arrested and a search warrant was executed at his place of residence in Surrey.

On October 4, 2022, 3 charges against 35-year-old Daniel Richardson Lloyd were laid which included: 2 counts of robbery and 1 count of attempt robbery.

Lloyd is waiting on a court date for his appearance.

VPD officers responded to reports of an assault near East First Avenue and Main Street at 4:30 p.m. on June 2. Scott Carver, 56, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died. A 61-year-old man has been arrested. Investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other.
