Charges Laid After 86-year-old Man Robbed, Beaten In Abbotsford, B.C.

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — A man has been arrested and charged for the violent robbery of a senior in Abbotsford, B.C.
 
Police say a male suspect followed the 86-year-old man into his apartment building Tuesday afternoon, entered his suite and assaulted him.
 
They say the senior was left bleeding on the flood while the suspect rummaged through drawers and took jewellery and a wallet before leaving.
 
The victim was taken to hospital and treated for bruises, cuts and an injury to his shoulder.
 
Officers reviewed security footage from the apartment building and arrested a suspect in the area of a local business where the man's credit card had been used.
 
Police say a 45-year-old man is facing five charges including aggravated assault, robbery, and break and enter.
