Catering CEO, Desmond Hague, resigns amid allegations of animal abuse in B.C.

The Canadian Press Darpan, 03 Sep, 2014 02:20 PM
VANCOUVER - A man alleged to have abused a dog while being video taped in a Vancouver hotel elevator has resigned from his post as CEO of a high-profile catering company.

In a news release, Centerplate Inc. says Desmond Hague's decision comes as a result of alleged personal misconduct involving the mistreatment of an animal in his care.

Video from an elevator surveillance camera shows a man kicking a Doberman pinscher and yanking its collar, actions the SPCA said it investigated.

Hague later issued a statement to Global News saying he was deeply embarrassed and had apologized to the animal's owners.

Joe O'Donnell, chairman of the board of directors for Centerplate, says the company doesn't condone and would not overlook the abuse of animals.

Centerplate is a catering company that provides services to venues across North America, including BC Place, the home of the CFL's BC Lions.

What your desk says about your mind may be extremely worrying
My colleagues say I have a disgustingly messy desk. I prefer to call it "the ideas vortex". But tidiness was on my mind this week after hearing about firefighters who recently raced to a scene of utter devastation in a residential street in Canada.
