Case Of Dal Student Charged With First-degree Murder Due In Halifax Court

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Oct, 2016 12:15 PM
HALIFAX — The lawyer for a Dalhousie University student charged with first-degree murder in the death of another student will be in court today to apply for search warrants in the ongoing case.

William Sandeson's defence attorney is seeking warrant documents that have been sealed by the Crown.

Sandeson was charged with the murder of Taylor Samson on Aug. 20, 2015, and ordered to stand trial following a preliminary hearing in Halifax.

Samson, a fellow Dalhousie University student, was last seen days earlier but his body has not been found.

All of the preliminary trial and bail evidence before the court is protected by a routine publication ban.

Police have said the two men knew each other, but have not released details about how they believe Samson was killed.
