Canadians struggling with monthly mortgage

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 23 Oct, 2023 10:12 AM
  • Canadians struggling with monthly mortgage

An Angus Reid poll suggests 15 per cent of Canadians are struggling with their monthly mortgage payments.

That's up from eight per cent in March and 11 per cent in June.

And a whopping 79 per cent of those surveyed are worried or very worried they will face higher payments when it comes time to renew their mortgage.

That's despite expectations the Bank of Canada will hold its key interest rate steady at five per cent when it announces its next decision Wednesday.
