Canadian Taxi Drivers Raise $15,000 Dollars For Spiritual Centre Kelowna General Hospital

IANS, 05 Oct, 2015 12:40 PM
Taxi drivers and some Sikhs in Canada have raised 15,000 dollars (US $11,400) for a new spiritual centre at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in British Columbia.

The funds were handed over to the hospital at an event organised at the Okanagan Sikh Temple in Rutland on Sunday, The Daily Courier reported.

The hospital's new sacred space will replace its old and outdated chapel and would cost nearly 140,000 Canadian dollars ($107,000).

The spiritual centre will provide refuge for staff, patients and others during times of grief, transition and celebration.
