Canada-Wide Warrant Issued For Sex Offender Jonathan Cardinal Missing From Vancouver Halfway House

    Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 29-year-old Jonathan Cardinal, a federal sex offender, after he failed to return to his halfway house in Vancouver on July 2.


    Cardinal is considered a high-risk sex offender. He is currently serving a long-term supervisory order following two violent sexual assaults in 2010. Cardinal is bound by several conditions including a curfew. Corrections Canada has now issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.


    Cardinal is Indigenous, 5’8” tall and 165 lbs. He has short brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his upper back, and was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, a backpack and black-rimmed eye glasses.


    Anyone who sees Jonathan Cardinal, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
