Calgary man accused of murdering his missing spouse makes brief court appearance

    CALGARY — A Calgary man charged in the murder of his missing spouse after police found human remains in his house has made a brief court appearance.

    Lisa Michelle Mitchell, who was 31, was the mother of two young children and was last seen alive at the home in October 2012.

    Investigators say they got a search warrant for the residence on Friday.

    Allan Shyback, who is 38, faces charges of second-degree murder and causing an indignity to a body.

    He appeared in court via closed-circuit television.

    The case was adjourned until Dec. 18.
