Burnaby RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate a collision that has left a 23-year-old cyclist in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

On Sunday, September 12, at 12:00 p.m., frontline officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of MacPherson Avenue and Beresford Street.

The cyclist was crossing MacPherson Avenue at Beresford Street when he was struck by a vehicle driving northbound. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and continues to cooperate with the investigation.

The cyclist was transported to hospital with what is believed to be life threatening injuries.

If you witnessed this incident and haven’t spoken to police, please contact our investigators, says Corporal Mike Kalanj of the Burnaby RCMP.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or potentially have dash cam video of the collision to please contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
