Burnaby RCMP Investigating Alleged Carjacking And Stabbing

Darpan News Desk, 16 Jul, 2019 06:14 PM

Just after midnight Burnaby RCMP received a report that a stabbing and carjacking had taken place in the 9000 block of Cardston Court.

Upon arrival at scene, police located a 19-year-old man who had suffered a non-life threatening stab wound. The victims friend was also located at the scene and was uninjured.

At this time, it appears as though an altercation took place between the two men and a group of men. This led to the victim being stabbed and the vehicle he was travelling in being stolen by the group of men. This vehicle has since been recovered by police.

At this time in our investigation it is too early to confirm a motive for this carjacking and stabbing however it is believed to be targeted and the victim is known to police.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have seen a dark coloured SUV or the vehicle the victim was travelling in, a white 2004 Mazda 3 fleeing the area of Cardston Court after this incident took place.

If you have any information or dashcam video that would assist this investigation you are asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or if you wish to stay anonymous contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or go to www.solvecrime.ca.
