Burnaby RCMP investigating a sexual assault that occurred on New Year's Eve

Police in Burnaby say they're looking for information on a sexual assault that occurred on New Year's Eve.

Burnaby R-C-M-P say the female victim was walking east on Brentwood Drive at around 6:30 in the evening when a man came up behind her, asked for directions and then groped her.

Police say the victim pushed the man away and she was uninjured.

Mounties say the suspect is a South Asian man in his 40s with a slim build, and investigators are seeking dashcam footage from the area of Brentwood Drive between Beta Avenue and Delta Avenue from between 6 and 7 p-m on New Year’s Eve.
