Burnaby collision at construction site leaves 1 hurt

Darpan News Desk Burnaby RCMP, 13 Jun, 2023 02:29 PM
  • Burnaby collision at construction site leaves 1 hurt

A single vehicle collision involving a pickup truck took place at a construction site in Burnaby.

On Tuesday, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Burnaby RCMP officers were called to a construction site on Beta Avenue near Dawson Street for reports of a single vehicle collision involving a southbound pickup truck.

Witnesses indicated a white Toyota Tacoma had crashed into a concrete block, which caused the block to strike another vehicle legally parked at the location. The pick-up truck then reversed and collided with a wooden pallet holding construction materials.

The 40-year-old male driver was unconscious when first responders arrived. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Nobody else was hurt.

Investigators are currently looking into all factors of the collision, including the possibility of driver impairment, said Corporal Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP. It is fortunate nobody else was injured in this incident.

Any witnesses who either saw the crash or have dashcam video of the incident or the truck in the area before the collision are asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
