British Military Officer Charged With Sex Assault On Canadian Officer: Police

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 04 Aug, 2016 12:23 PM
KINGSTON, Ont. — Police say a British lieutenant-colonel who was temporarily posted to Kingston, Ont., is charged with sexually assaulting a female officer in the Canadian military.

Kingston police say the alleged victim went to a "licensed establishment" in downtown Kingston early on April 10 with a group of people who had attended a military function at Fort Frontenac.

Investigators allege the accused followed the 52-year-old woman when she returned to her nearby hotel and sexually assaulted her in her room.

They say 45-year-old Christopher Davies was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of sexual assault.

Police say Davies has been released under strict conditions, including having no contact with the alleged victim, and had to surrender his passport.

Davies, who is prohibited from leaving Ontario while the case is before the courts, is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 15.
