WINNIPEG — A Winnipeg man accused of sending letter bombs to his ex-wife and two law firms has appeared briefly in court via video link.
Guido Amsel continues to be kept in custody and is due back in court July 16.
Amsel has not retained a lawyer so far and has not indicated whether he will seek bail.
He has not entered pleas to charges that include attempted murder.
The 49-year-old was arrested last weekend after explosives were sent to his ex-wife's workplace and a law firm connected to legal battles between the former couple.
Two bombs were detonated safely, but one exploded and caused severe injuries to lawyer Maria Mitousis
