IQALUIT, Nunavut — Nunavut RCMP say a bomb threat that caused evacuations at schools in three regions of the territory was a hoax.
 
Mounties say all elementary schools, high schools and colleges have been physically checked by officers and school staff, and no suspicious signs were found.
 
Police had received information at 9 a.m. that bombs had been placed in schools across Nunavut.
 
They said the threat was similar to ones received in other parts of Canada and the United States, which closed schools across the Maritimes on Wednesday.
 
A threat was also received by the Winnipeg School Division but no schools were evacuated.
 
Those threats also turned out to be fake.
