  • Body of missing B.C. teenager found in Surrey, RCMP say death is suspicious

Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a Langley, B.C., teenager whose body was found in the Port Kells area of Surrey.

Surrey RCMP say the body of 17-year-old Wenyan Michael Zhao was found in the 17900-block of 99A Avenue at 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Police say Zhao was reported missing by his family Thursday evening and he was last seen in the 5900-block of 206 Street in Langley.

Mounties say the death is suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.

RCMP say Zhao's death appears to be an isolated incident, based on initial investigations, but his cause of death is unclear.

Anyone with information about Zhao's movements after 9 p.m. Thursday is asked to contact IHIT.
