Body Of Man Recovered From Lynn Canyon In North Vancouver After Drowning

The Canadian Press, 12 Sep, 2015 02:54 PM
VANCOUVER — The body of a young man has been recovered from the waters of a popular park in North Vancouver.

RCMP divers retrieved the body from a creek in Lynn Canyon on Saturday afternoon.

Police and local firefighters responded Friday evening to a call of a possible drowning in the creek, just downstream from a suspension bridge.

Mounties knew where the young man was but couldn't get to him and after about an hour the rescue turned into a recovery operation.

The canyon is popular with divers, but police say they don't know what the young man was doing when the accident happened.

There were three people with him when he drowned and his identity has not been released.
