VANCOUVER — A body has been found near the site of where a whale-watching boat sank on Oct. 25, killing five people.
The BC Coroners Service said it was sending a coroner to the scene but cautions it is too early to say if the remains are those of a man who has remained missing since the sinking.
The 20-metre whale-watching boat The Leviathan II capsized about 15 kilometres northwest of Tofino, B.C., with 27 people on board.
The Coroners Service said after the accident that the victims were from Britain and ranged in age from 18 to 76.
A sixth person, a 27-year-old man from Australia, remained listed as missing.
The Transportation Safety Board has said that many of the passengers were sightseeing on one side of the upper deck when a wave hit from the opposite side, flipping the boat.
