Body found in Surrey home

Police say a man has been arrested and homicide investigators have been called in after a death in a Surrey neighbourhood last night.

R-C-M-P say officers responded to a report of a woman with life-threatening injuries inside a home on 182A Street near Parsons Drive.

The woman was taken to hospital, where she died of her injuries, while officers used police dogs to help find and arrest a man near the area.

The Mounties are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

The decision released this week by the Civil Resolution Tribunal shows the woman made a claim of $5,000 to cover unpaid wages and severance pay, arguing she had been fired without cause last March.

Pandemic, social media at play in teen crimes

Police said this week that a group of up to 10 teen girls allegedly assaulted several people at random at downtown Toronto subway stations on Dec. 17. Investigators have not confirmed whether the group is the same one that allegedly stabbed a homeless man who later died in hospital – those teens congregated after meeting on social media.
