  • Body found in Langley explosion

A body has been found by firefighters at the scene of an explosion in Langley, B.C., and the province's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is now investigating.

Mounties and firefighters responded to an explosion at a house in rural Langley on Sunday afternoon.

The homicide team says firefighters put out the blaze, and during the processing of the scene they found the body.

Investigators are asking witnesses who may have been on the 24300-block of 8 Avenue between noon and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday to contact police.

Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, spokesperson for the homicide team, says in the news release that they are working with the Langley RCMP’s arson and serious crimes units on what is now considered a murder case.

He says investigators will stay in the area over the next several days and will be looking for witnesses and dashcam and surveillance video.
