Blaring Car Alarms, Anxious Dog, Prompt Alleged Vandalism On B.C. Ferry: Police

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 19 Jul, 2019 08:41 PM

DELTA, B.C. - Police are investigating a report of alleged vandalism at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal south of Vancouver that's possibly linked to concern for a pet.

Authorities in Delta, B.C., say they got word on July 9 about a suspected vandal on the deck of an arriving ferry.

Police spokeswoman Chris Leykauf says witnesses claimed the man was threatening to use keys to scratch the paint of other vehicles on the vessel.

Investigators found what they call fresh, key-like paint damage on two vehicles and arrested a man on suspicion of mischief.

Leykauf says police were told the man warned that any vehicles with activated car alarms would be damaged because the blaring noise was upsetting his dog.

There was no immediate word on charges. (CTV)
