Bedbug barkers: Dogs trained to sniff out blood-sucking insects found safe

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 19 Jan, 2015 12:02 PM

WINNIPEG — Two missing dogs trained to sniff out bedbugs have been found safe after the van they were resting in was stolen in Winnipeg.

Police say an ambulance-style van was taken with 10 of the sniffer dogs inside.

Someone called police when they saw loose dogs running around their property.

Eight of them were corralled, but police asked for help finding the other two.

A couple of hours later, Labradors Titan and Bailey were tracked down.

A passerby who found the two dogs had been listening to the radio and heard the pooches' descriptions on air.
