B.C. Toddler Airlifted After Tumble From Third-Floor Balcony In Kelowna

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 22 May, 2019 06:59 PM

KELOWNA, B.C. — A toddler had to be airlifted to hospital in Vancouver after tumbling from a third-floor balcony in Kelowna, B.C.

RCMP report the two-year-old fell early Saturday from the balcony of an apartment complex in Kelowna's Rutland neighbourhood.

A woman living on the ground floor of the complex heard the child screaming and called for help.

Amanda Beaudry says the boy was responsive but had scratches, a cut behind his ear and a large lump on the back of his head.

She says his mother was with him by the time paramedics arrived and Beaudry has since learned the toddler suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries.

An RCMP news release says police and officials from the Ministry of Child and Family Development are looking into what happened.
