B.C. RCMP make an arrest after a suspicious death on a Mackenzie property

    MACKENZIE, B.C. - RCMP in Mackenzie, B.C., are investigating what police believe is a suspicious death.
     
    Police say a dead person was discovered on a property on the east side of Mackenzie and an investigation was started on Saturday.
     
    RCMP say a 17-year-old was taken into custody and has been remanded under the Mental Health Act for assessment.
     
    Police say they have yet to confirm the identity of the person or how the individual died.
     
    The BC Coroner Service has been called and an autopsy will be conducted in order to determine the cause.
     
    No charges have been laid and police ask anyone with information to contact the Mackenzie RCMP.
