VICTORIA — British Columbia Premier Christy Clark has rearranged some members of her cabinet, shuffling Peter Fassbender out of education and into the Ministry of Community Sport and Cultural Development.

Mike Bernier, who has been a parliamentary secretary for the environment minister, is B.C.'s new education minister.

Coralee Oaks, who had been in charge of the community sport ministry, is now minister of small business.

Naomi Yamamoto is out as the jobs minister and is now minister of state for emergency preparedness.

Fassbender led the government's file amid a bitter dispute with the province's unionized teachers, before helping reach a settlement at the start of the last school.

Clark says the changes are about making sure B.C. residents in every region benefit from their plan to create jobs by growing the economy.
