B.C. Moves To Recall Smirnoff Ice Coolers After Canada-Wide Warning Issued

The Canadian Press, 10 Sep, 2015 12:49 PM
  • B.C. Moves To Recall Smirnoff Ice Coolers After Canada-Wide Warning Issued
VANCOUVER — Three types of Smirnoff Ice coolers have been recalled in British Columbia following a Canada-wide warning about possible glass contamination.

Smirnoff's supplier Diageo Canada voluntarily recalled several of the alcoholic drinks last week because of the possibility they may contain small pieces of glass.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency also issued a recall warning, advising people to avoid drinking the beverages.

B.C.'s liquor distribution branch issued its own recall Wednesday for 12-packs of Smirnoff Ice, four-packs of Smirnoff Ice cranberry lime and four-packs of Smirnoff Ice peach bellinis.

Customers are being asked to return recalled products to the store where they were bought for a full refund.

A list of Smirnoff Ice drinks that are being recalled elsewhere in Canada is posted on the food inspection agency's website.
